Hi, my name is recanman. I write the Monero Standard (https://localmonero.co/nojs/the-monero-standard) and am currently working on MoneroPHP (https://github.com/monero-integrations/monerophp). I've also translated the LocalMonero/AgoraDesk website/app into Arabic.
I view Monero (or a Monero-like currency that is private, mathematically deflationary, and fungible) as essential to humanity, and I'd like to be able to learn, make connections, and spread the word of Monero to a few people at FOSDEM 2024.

Description of FOSDEM: It is the biggest software conference, named the "Free and Open-source Software Developers' European Meeting". It is taking place this year in February 2024, with 716 talks planned, and over 8000 attendees expected. It is over the weekend, beginning at February 3rd, and ending on February 4th.

It would be the second conference I go to, with the first one being a small local conference. I am quite excited for the conference, but the cost is a little expensive for me. I've cut down the budget as much as I could.

Here is an approximate breakdown of costs:
Flight - $460 (round trip)
Airbnb Room - $120 (~$35 per night + fees)
Food - $75 (~$8 per meal, 3 meals a day)
Anything else - $50

I will depart Feb 1st. It is a 16-hour flight, and I will stay until Feb 5th.

This totals to around $710, which is quite hard for me to afford. I'm hoping to be able to raise 3 XMR, which will cover a little more than half of the trip's cost.
