Just to be clear... Barreto did not create the Kuno campaign, does not control the wallet, has received no money from it, and did not approach the public asking for donations, I rotten, did. Cooperation with the existing defense had been discussed and accepted in principle, everything was done in good faith, with the intention of adding resources to the existing defense, not replacing anyone or taking anyone’s client.

Some of you already supported Lucas through Kuno when he traveled from Brazil to MoneroKon 5 in 2025 (https://kuno.anne.media/fundraiser/f01t/). Today the need is much more serious.

Lucas is detained in Brazil and faces criminal proceedings in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Two separate detention orders are in force, so the defense has to work on both fronts.

His current lawyers remain in the case. Barreto Advocacia Criminal has reviewed the records and aligned in principle with the defense team to join as complementary counsel, initially focused on digital evidence and chain of custody.

Before asking for funding, Barreto reviewed and indexed 4,127 pages across five (5) different proceedings at its own cost. That review found technical issues that require independent examination, including records concerning seized electronics and 33 technical annexes that are not fully available in the reviewed record.

Goal: 75 XMR.

Campaign 1 will fund Barreto's first legal and forensic workstream: legal strategy, an independent digital forensics expert, requests to obtain and preserve technical evidence, examination of the material produced, an initial expert opinion and the core court filings based on those findings.

The immediate objective is to strengthen coordinated challenges to both detention orders and seek provisional release while building the technical defense for the cases themselves.

There is no promise of release and no guaranteed judicial result. The 75 XMR funds Campaign 1 only, not the entire defense. Any later phase will be separately scoped if needed. The full Campaign 1 workstream starts only once the 75 XMR is fully raised and received.

While there is no promise of release, nor guaranteed judicial result, it is worth noting there could be a conditional release for Lucas within 60 to 120 days, but no guarantee, and he would still need to go through the litigation, however long it takes, but at least he would not be doing so still sitting in jail.

Campaign 1 funds will be administered through Barreto for the stated legal and technical work, with meaningful milestone updates shared without exposing confidential defense strategy.

I (rottenwheel) am organizing this fundraiser because I want Lucas (A.K.A. Joseph The Parrot; Zé Carioca) to have a real chance to defend himself with the technical support this case requires.
