Project Status:
MoneroDroid is currently in active beta (v1.0.11). The application successfully compiles and runs monerod on Android devices, supporting full blockchain synchronization, background operation, secure RPC authentication (username/password) for local wallet pairing (e.g., Cake Wallet, Feather), and experimental mining capabilities.
The Goal:
To transition MoneroDroid from a functional tool for power users into the standard, frictionless way to run a private Monero node on mobile devices.
Funding Requirement:
Following the cancellation of previous bounty opportunities, we are seeking community funding to sustain full-time development focus for the next [Time Period, e.g., 3-6 months].
Deliverables tied to this funding:
Performance Optimization: Deep dive into monerod Android resource management to significantly reduce battery impact during sync.
I2P Integration: Native implementation of I2P routing for node traffic, complementing existing Tor support for maximum network-level privacy.
Bootstrap UX: Streamlining the initial block download process via optional pre-loaded checkpoints to reduce the barrier to entry for new users.
Maintenance & Security: Ongoing bug fixes and ensuring compatibility with upstream Monero core updates.
