Hello greetings to the Monero community, my name is Alvaro Alfonzo I am 16 years old and I am a high school student in the city of Santa Elena de Uiren, a border city located between Venezuela and Brazil.

In my city for years the internet service has been really bad, with constant downtime and using an obsolete technology such as ADSL recently a private company has been wiring the area where I live with Fiber Optics and offering speeds up to 60 MB and has an installation cost of $ 80 USD.


I usually work on weekends in a small supermarket in my city helping to bag the customers' purchases and with that job, I would be able to keep the service active in my house, which would help me and my siblings, both in our academic training and in some kind of remote work.

I got to know Monero thanks to an assignment from my computer science professor who assigned us to research the 3 cryptocurrencies that could have a greater impact in emerging countries and during my research, I became interested in Monero because I believe that both anonymity and privacy are fundamental pillars for the unbanked people to take the step towards an integration to the digital economy.
