About
Hi there, Monero community!
I am thrilled to share that my proposal, "Monero Adoption Venezuela: Onboarding Universities and Local Commerce Under Hyperinflation," has been accepted for MoneroKon 6 in Warsaw. This presentation focuses on the critical, real-world work of implementing decentralized financial tools in environments facing extreme economic instability.
In contexts of hyperinflation, privacy and peer-to-peer electronic cash are not just technical ideals—they are essential tools for financial survival. My work involves teaching students and local merchants how to use Monero as a secure, private alternative for daily transactions.
My Collaborations and Impact
I have been actively involved in the privacy and Monero ecosystem through various initiatives:
Monerotopia Appearance: Featured in the interview "Cash is Freedom, Risk-off, still in progress, Churn, fracture, consolidate, Anti CBDC bill".
Local Promotion: Represented Monero at Caracas Blockchain Week 2023, promoting privacy-first tools in Venezuela.

Technical Contributions: Contributed to the Monero community by managing merging issues for the Spanish version of the Monero Flyer (schmidt1024/monero-flyer).

Real-World XMR Onboarding: Since 2023, I have been successfully onboarding local merchants in Caracas to accept Monero as a viable payment method.
The Financial Challenge
While the conference organizers will provide a € 500 Eur travel sponsorship, traveling from Venezuela to Poland in June presents a significant financial gap:
Roundtrip Flight (VEN - WAW): ~4.46 XMR
Accommodation (3 nights): ~ 0.8 XMR
Ground Transport & Meals: ~ 0.85 XMR
Total Estimated Cost:
Minus Official Conference MoneroKon Sponsorship: - 1.4 XMR
Funding Gap: 4.71 XMR
Why I Am Seeking Your Support?
Representing the Latin American adoption movement on a global stage is vital for the growth of the Monero ecosystem. Your support will directly enable me to travel to Warsaw and share field-tested strategies for privacy-preserving adoption in crisis zones.
I commit to adjusting the Goal If costs decrease, I will lower the funding target immediately.
Community Feedback: I will share key insights from the conference with the community upon my return.
Any contribution helps ensure that the story of Monero's real-world impact in Venezuela is heard by the global community.

Feel free to reach out to me on Twitter: @Xmradvocate or Telegram: @telecomcoding for any questions regarding the proposal or the campaign.
I am aiming to cover the flight ticket before May 15th. Securing the ticket by this date is critical to lock in viable prices and avoid overpriced last-minute bookings.
Thanks for your support!
