The Problem

Most people believe "encrypted" means "safe". It doesn't. Metadata, IP addresses, behavior patterns, KYC databases — there are five layers of exposure that no one talks about. We wrote an article breaking this down, and the response made one thing clear: people want to protect themselves. They just don't know where to start.

There is a massive education gap. Millions of people use messengers, exchanges, and online services every day without understanding what they expose. The knowledge exists, but it is scattered across English-language forums, GitHub repos, and niche communities. For German-speaking users, there is almost nothing.

The DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) is one of the most crypto-active markets in Europe. And yet there is no central resource that helps people find privacy tools, understand what they do, and take the first step.

EU regulation is tightening. MiCA is coming in 2027, exchanges are delisting privacy coins. The need to learn is growing faster than the resources to learn from.

The Solution

nullr00.ts.it — a curated, bilingual (EN/DE) directory for privacy tools, no-KYC services, Monero-accepting businesses, and sovereign infrastructure.

But more than a directory: a starting point for people who want to take back control. Every listing is manually reviewed. Every entry shows at a glance: what it does, where it's based, whether it requires KYC, which private contact methods it offers (SimpleX, Matrix, PGP — not just Twitter and email), and whether a Tor mirror exists.

The goal is education through structure. People don't need another blog post telling them privacy matters. They need one place where they can find the right tool in two clicks. And they need a community where they can ask questions without feeling stupid.

That community already exists: #monero-dach on Matrix. A German-speaking room for anyone who wants to learn about Monero, privacy tools, and digital sovereignty. Beginners welcome. No gatekeeping.

What Makes This Different

Every page is built for humans AND machines. Static HTML (Astro), structured data (JSON-LD), and WebMCP annotations make the directory readable by LLM agents and AI search. An AI agent can query: "Find me a VPN that accepts Monero and has no logging policy" — and get a structured answer directly from nullr00ts.it. No other privacy directory offers this.

Each listing is scored on real privacy criteria: KYC policy, logging policy, Tor access, private contact methods, jurisdiction, open source status.

No tracking. No analytics. No cookies. No JavaScript required to browse.

Who Is Building This

Independent builder in the Monero ecosystem since 2016. First Monero merch on Amazon in 2016. Running Nostr infrastructure (relays, cryptographic content signing). Building privacy-first web projects with AI agents.

Already live: a Matrix community room (#monero-dach:matrix.org) and a published article on messaging privacy and SimpleX Chat that breaks down the five layers of exposure for non-technical readers.

What the Funds Cover

• Mac Mini as dedicated home server on fiber connection: Monero full node, SimpleX SMP server, directory backend API
• Domain and infrastructure costs for the first year
• Initial development: category structure, first 100 listings, submission system, sponsorship module

The directory will be free to use, open source, and community-driven. Sponsorship slots (paid in XMR) will sustain it long-term, following the Monerica model.
