Today we appeal to your generosity to support Magdiel Castejón, a 79-year-old father, brother, and grandfather who has been a pillar of our family throughout his life. Magdiel, known to everyone as “Mayor,” has always been known for his strength and good humor, but today he faces the greatest challenge of his life: a diagnosis of Stage IV Prostate Adenocarcinoma.

What is his current medical situation?

Under the supervision of Dr. Luis O. Pérez in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Magdiel has begun rigorous cancer treatment to combat this disease, which fortunately has had a positive impact. His diagnosis requires a continuous palliative treatment regimen, which includes high-cost medications such as Bicalutamide and Leuprolide (or Triptorelin), as well as temporary support with Erythropoietin.

In addition, Magdiel is dealing with secondary complications, including a severe urinary tract infection caused by the bacterium Proteus mirabilis, which requires him to continue treatment with specific antibiotics and other medications to control his symptoms and rest.

Why do we need the funds?

Medical costs in Venezuela are extremely high and exceed our current financial capabilities. Although we have received a lot of support, it has been an uphill battle and we do not have the necessary funds to cover all expenses. Therefore, any funds that can be raised will be used entirely for:

Cancer Treatment: Purchase of Leuprolide/Triptorelin ampoules and Bicalutamide tablets.

Follow-up Tests: Constant monitoring of PSA levels, complete blood counts, blood chemistry (urea, creatinine, TGO, TGP), and urine cultures.

Specialized Studies: Simple cranial CT scans and other imaging studies required by specialists.

Complementary Medications: Antibiotics (Cenuviv, Macrodantina), diuretics (Furosemide), and supplements for general well-being.
