Hi guys, My name is Jose. I am a student of medicine in Cuba very interested in privacy and freedom. I born in Cuba 22 years ago maybe is not the best place for freedom and privacy but i love my family.
Since a year ago due restrictions and block for internet usage at my country, I'm looking for use some tools to browse privately but has been really hard for me because low wages and internet restrictions in the island.
Recently when I have access to internet. I tried to research about Tails and TOR, but this pages are blocked to download directly from the public internet controlled by the national telecommunications
Someday i could reached Tails website with a tourist sim card after seeing some vids and chat with friends, but the public internet is very bad (3g/2g network). There are some public WIFI with better speeds but Tails site is restricted.
What are the solutions?
Internet here is very expensive and connection speed is very low and instable. I've contacted a friend who work with tourists and she has access to tourist . Tourist have special benefits her in my country such better internet and restrictions.
The plan is to buy a tourist sim card of 50 gb from a tourist with my friend and pay some fees to keep the secret to use it and download a package of some software (Tails, Tor desktop and mobile phones (apks).
After got the tourist sim card, I got 30 days to use 50gb and have access to 4g network temporary which is exclusively for tourist and very few people in my country.
I plan as well to buy 1TB (HDD) to storage downloads and 5 (10 GB) USB sticks to install TAILS. This allow me share some USB TAILS pens with some friends in my community to create awareness about use internet against tracking, surveillance and censorship.
May be you ask, how you can exchange Monero there? I can access to my Monero wallet (monerujo) and send some XMR to a friend in Puerto Rico and he send me a remittances to me in the island paying 10% fee.
