About
I am shortwavesurfer2009, frequent guest on MoneroTopia Viewers On Stage and operator of Aurora General Store.
Aurora General Store: https://xmrbazaar.com/user/AuroraGeneralStore/
I firmly believe that one of the biggest barriers to Monero adoption is the volatility of prices. I aim to help fix that by selling goods for Monero at stable prices for months at a time so that people know what to expect to pay over long periods. I use the 365 day average and update prices in April, August, and December of each year. Doing this means that sometimes you can get items cheaper than elsewhere and other times they may be more expensive than elsewhere, but they remain stable and that is the point.
Monero Circular Economy Pledge (MCEP): I absolutely love the concept of the MCEP, however I do not feel I have earned the right to take it since I have to use a gift card service (Coinsbee, CoinCards, etc) to purchase groceries.
Haveno: I run 1 of the RetoSwap (formerly Haveno-Reto) seednodes because it is something I can do to help the Monero community.
Accessibility: I am blind so software accessibility is important to me. I have submitted accessibility related bugs to a number of projects in and out of the Monero space. A few that come to mind right away are XMRChat, Cake Wallet, Monerujo, Mysu, and Thunder (Lemmy client).
