Local Therapeutic Experiences
────────────────────
We are actively providing support to members of our community struggling with their mental health through alternative means. We provide them with a safe place and certain materials to have an uplifting, potentially life changing experience.
We don’t charge for any of the process. We do this just for the benefit of the client, someone who is struggling with their mental health, usually treatment resistant. The cost for us for a single session, not including time and labor, is $100.
We follow the guides made by MAPS (https://maps.org) and people like James Fadiman.

What’s Provided
───────────
- Weeks of prepping
- A safe, clean, comfortable environment with constant supervision
- The materials
- Food, water and a place to sleep, if needed.
───────────
What it’s not
───────────
- A party or a rave. We take this material very seriously, it puts the mind in a very open but fragile state. We respect the power and impact of the materials we use, so we don’t abuse it.
- A therapy or medication replacement. We see the need for therapists and medications and know they even provide a massive benefit to this experience, promoting openness to the client’s therapist and community.
───────────
Our Process
───────────
1. Referral: Usually by word of mouth. Many times from previous clients.
2. Meet: We talk to them to see if their condition is a good fit. Biggest fits are depression, anxiety and PTSD. They have the best current research with the materials we use.
3. Prep: A period of 1-2 weeks where we talk to the client and prepare them for the journey. This is also where we’d reject any clients that aren’t a good fit. If we’d believe they’d be dangerous or irrational, or just simply not ready for the experience, we may set a later time or reject them from the session.
4. Session: This is when we administer the material. Typically this lasts 6-8 hours but it can take up to 12 and we allow for overnight stays if they don’t believe they can safely drive and don’t have a ride.
5. Follow-ups: It may take a long time to integrate the experience, we like to keep in touch to see how things are going. We recommend therapist appointments in this time to work through what they learned.
We truly believe in the work we’re doing and know the impact we’re having on our community.

We’re published! 🎉, Added more details of our process, updated verbiage to make it easier to read and skim (previous version saved on https://web.archive.org before updating), we were going to post this on 05-01 but a single emoji stopped us. Thanks support 👍 (We needed the page friendly and clean so we had to add support for emoji though)

Nothing is particularly special about how we added horizontal lines or emoji to our Kuno.
We just used the respective HTML entity for all of the lines and emoji. Damn fancy though.
Downsides:
You are required to store your Kuno page in a separate document OR redo all the emoji in the textarea each update. This doesn’t matter to us since we keep everything version controlled, including this Kuno page.
